Rice and Shallot Prices Rise, While Chillies, Eggs, and Chicken Fall

Bank Indonesia (BI), through its National Strategic Food Price Information Centre (PIHPS), reported that the price of lower-grade I rice rose by Rp400 to Rp15,150 per kg, and lower-grade II rice also increased by Rp350 to Rp14,900 per kg. Conversely, the price of medium-grade I rice fell by Rp50 to Rp16,350 per kg, and medium-grade II rice decreased by Rp300 to Rp15,900 per kg. Declines were also observed for super-grade I rice, which dropped by Rp350 to Rp17,350 per kg, and super-grade II rice, which fell by Rp300 to Rp16,850 per kg. The price of medium-sized shallots rose by Rp1,100 to Rp41,900, followed by medium-sized garlic, which increased by Rp1,050 to Rp43,150 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of purebred chicken eggs fell by Rp200 to Rp29,300 per kg, and fresh chicken meat decreased by Rp1,850 to Rp37,700 per kg. Large red chilli prices dropped by Rp3,250 to Rp46,050 per kg, and curly red chilli prices fell by Rp4,850 to Rp43,750 per kg. Green bird’s eye chilli prices decreased by Rp2,100 to Rp49,700 per kg, and red bird’s eye chilli prices fell by Rp900 to Rp53,800 per kg. The price of grade I beef fell by Rp800 to Rp150,150 per kg, while grade II beef rose by Rp2,800 to Rp144,750 per kg. Premium granulated sugar fell by Rp100 to Rp20,200 per kg, while local granulated sugar rose by Rp100 to Rp19,200 per kg. Finally, bulk cooking oil increased by Rp500 to Rp20,950 per litre, branded cooking oil I fell by Rp350 to Rp24,000 per litre, and branded cooking oil II rose by Rp50 to Rp23,450 per litre.
