The availability of rice and fuel in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, is confirmed to be sufficient during Ramadan until the upcoming Eid al-Fitr. The Banyuwangi Regency Government conducted inspections at the Banyuwangi Bulog warehouse and monitored fuel reserves at the Tanjungwangi Fuel Terminal on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

The inspection, conducted by the Regent of Banyuwangi, Ipuk Fiestiandiani, also involved the Banyuwangi Police Chief, Commissioner Rofiq Ripto Himawan, Head of Bank Indonesia Jember, Iqbal Reza Nugraha, the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID), and the Banyuwangi Regency Food Task Force. Representatives from the TNI and the District Attorney’s Office were also present.

The Head of the Banyuwangi Bulog Branch, Dwiana Puspitasari, stated that the current rice stock at the Banyuwangi Bulog warehouse is 97,000 tons. This stock is considered more than sufficient to meet the consumption needs of the Banyuwangi community during Ramadan and Eid. In fact, Banyuwangi Bulog can supply the eastern part of Indonesia, which has a rice deficit, such as Papua and NTT.

“Our absorption realization has reached about 28 percent of the target, even though it is still February. This means that the absorption trend is quite good and the reserve stock will continue to increase,” said Dwiana in Banyuwangi, Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

Monitoring at the Blambangan Market shows that the price of 5-kilogram packages of premium rice is IDR 75,000, and 5-kilogram packages of medium-quality rice are IDR 68,000. In addition to rice, Bulog also ensures the availability of cooking oil. Currently, the cooking oil stock in the warehouse reaches about 38,000 liters. In the near future, Bulog will also receive an additional supply of about 100,000 liters. Stocks of other food commodities are also available at Bulog, such as 85 tons of sugar.

“To maintain price stability, we, together with the Regional Government and TPID, routinely hold cheap markets every day in each sub-district. So, the public does not need to worry. Banyuwangi’s food reserves are very safe,” she said.

The Integrated Terminal Manager of Tanjungwangi PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Alia Anggraini, said that the availability of fuel and LPG is sufficient during Ramadan and Eid. The daily fuel consumption in Banyuwangi, which is served by her company, reaches about 2,300-2,500 kiloliters per day for all products. Leading up to the homecoming period, the need usually increases to about 2,700-2,800 kiloliters per day.

The increase in consumption is most noticeable for biodiesel and Pertalite. Specifically for Pertalite, the increase usually occurs about 7 days before Eid, with an increase of about 3-5 percent compared to normal days. “Meanwhile, in terms of reserves, the capacity of fuel tanks such as Pertalite is about 32,000 kiloliters with a tank capacity of more than 20 days. So the stock is safe,” said Alia.

The same goes for LPG, the consumption needs of the Banyuwangi community reach 200 metric tons per day. Meanwhile, the capacity of the tanks owned reaches 10,000 metric tons. “LPG stocks are also safe. For now, we are not doing extra dropping, because the existing allocation is sufficient,” she explained.

Meanwhile, Regent Ipuk said that the results of the inspection showed the sufficiency of food supplies, starting from rice, cooking oil, fuel to LPG. “Thank God, from the results of our inspection today, the stock of rice, cooking oil and fuel and LPG in Banyuwangi is very sufficient. Prices are stable,” said Ipuk, Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

She added that the regional government will routinely monitor the development of stocks and distribution of basic necessities, as well as energy, on an ongoing basis to prevent price manipulation at the market level. “We continue to carry out supervision with the TPID team, the Food Task Force of the Banyuwangi Police, and Bulog. In addition to maintaining price stability, we are also working together to monitor so that there is no manipulation by the middlemen,” said Ipuk.
