Ribbon and JLM Deploy High-Capacity Optical Network Linking Indonesia and Singapore
Ribbon Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: RBBN), a global provider of real-time communications technology, IP routing, and optical networking solutions, has announced that PT Jala Lintas Media (JLM), a leading Indonesian service provider, is leveraging its Apollo platform for a new DWDM network deployment connecting Indonesia and Singapore. JLM is also utilising Ribbon’s Data Center Interconnect (DCI) solutions to deliver high-capacity, scalable connectivity for AI and cloud computing workloads. This deployment marks the first phase of a wider network expansion supported by PT Mahavira System Integra.
Victor Irianto, Founder and President Commissioner of JLM, stated that Ribbon combined advanced technology with exceptional execution. He noted that among all the solutions evaluated, Ribbon’s was the most technically advanced, offering a more compact infrastructure footprint, lower power consumption, and the fastest delivery, implementation, testing, and integration process. He added that with Ribbon’s DCI capabilities now connecting data centres in Indonesia and Singapore, JLM is well-positioned to scale its network efficiently while delivering greater value to its customers.
JLM is utilising the Apollo 9608 modular optical networking platform, a robust and highly versatile solution designed for metro, core, and DCI applications. As a key component of Ribbon’s leading DCI solution, the Apollo 9608 provides exceptional scalability, high-density performance, and low power consumption, supporting efficient and cost-effective network expansion.
Mickey Wilf, Head of Regional Sales for ASEAN at Ribbon, commented that offering the best technology alone is no longer sufficient in the current environment. He explained that service providers face longer implementation times that can impact revenue opportunities, service quality, and customer satisfaction. Wilf emphasised that Ribbon combines high-performance optical innovation with rapid deployment and proven DCI expertise, and expressed pride in supporting JLM’s network infrastructure expansion and strengthening connectivity between its data centres in Indonesia and Singapore.
