Riau TPID and Regional-Owned Enterprise Hold Four-Day Cheap Market in Pekanbaru and Rohul
Pekanbaru — The Riau Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID), in collaboration with the regional-owned enterprise (BUMD) PT Riau Pangan Bertuah, is holding a four-day cheap market in Pekanbaru City and Rokan Hulu Regency to guarantee the availability of basic foodstuffs.
Tetty Nurdianti, Head of the Domestic Trade Division of the Riau Provincial Department of Industry, Trade, and Small and Medium Enterprises, stated that four sessions are being held this week because Tuesday (16/06) coincides with the Islamic New Year public holiday, 1 Muharram.
“For today, Monday (15/06), the event is being held at the SMA 16 grounds, Jalan Pramuka Ujung, East Rumbai District, Pekanbaru City,” she said in Pekanbaru on Monday.
Following this, the market will be held on Wednesday (17/06) at the North Tambusai Sub-district Office grounds in Rokan Hulu. Subsequently, sessions will take place on Thursday (18/06) at the Kunto Darussalam Sub-district Office grounds and on Friday (19/06) at the Tandun Sub-district Office grounds, both located in Rokan Hulu Regency.
Furthermore, Tetty detailed the prices of essential commodities available during the cheap market operation in Pekanbaru City, which include SPHP rice at Rp60,000 per 5kg, Anak Daro and Sokan rice at Rp165,000 per 10kg, and Sokan and Anak Daro rice at Rp83,000 per 5kg. Granulated sugar is priced at Rp18,000 per kg, Minyakita packaged cooking oil at Rp15,500 per pack, crystal salt at Rp2,000 per 200g, Nusantara salt at Rp2,000 per 250g, and eggs at Rp49,000 per tray.
Meanwhile, the cheap market operation in Rokan Hulu Regency is being conducted following a request from the Rokan Hulu Regency Government, utilising a subsidy system for basic food prices so that they are distributed below the maximum retail price (HET).
Commodity prices traded during this cheap market operation include CML rice at Rp68,000 per 5kg and premium rice at Rp70,000 per 5kg. Additionally, sugar is priced at Rp16,000 per kg, Minyakita cooking oil at Rp14,000 per litre, premium cooking oil at Rp20,000 per litre, wheat flour at Rp11,000 per kg, and eggs at Rp45,000 per tray.
“Garlic is priced at Rp24,000 per kilogram. Meanwhile, curly red chillies, shallots, and potatoes will also be sold below the farmers’ selling price,” she added.
