Riau TPID and Regional-Owned Enterprise Hold Five-Day Low-Cost Market in Pekanbaru and Kampar

Pekanbaru, (ANTARA) - The Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) of Riau, in cooperation with the regional-owned enterprise (BUMD) PT Riau Pangan Bertuah, is holding a cheap market for five days in Pekanbaru City and Kampar Regency.

Tetty Nurdianti, Head of the Domestic Trade Division at the Riau Provincial Office of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives and SMEs (Disperindagkop UKM), said the cheap market is being held to ensure the availability of staple goods among the community.

In addition, the cheap market also serves to help ensure smooth distribution and price stability in society in meeting people’s food needs.

“This week there will be five locations for the cheap market operation, spread across two regions, namely Kampar Regency and Pekanbaru City,” Tetty said in Pekanbaru, Riau, on Monday.

She noted that the Riau Provincial Government’s cheap market operation is divided into four points in Pekanbaru City and one point in Kampar Regency. Today it is being held in the grounds of the Pebatuan Sub-District Office in Kulim District, and tomorrow, Tuesday (5 August), at the grounds of the Rumbai Barat District Office, both in Pekanbaru City.

Next, on Wednesday (6 August), it will be held in the grounds of the Sei Liti Village Office in Kampar Kiri District, Kampar Regency. Then on Thursday (7 August) it will return to Pekanbaru City, specifically at the grounds of the Riau Main Stadium on Jalan Naga Sakti.

“Finally, on Friday (8 August), at the grounds of the Tangkerang Labuai Sub-District Office in Bukitraya District, also in Pekanbaru City,” she said.

Tetty mentioned the prices of staple goods available at the cheap market operation, including Stabilisation of Food Supply and Prices (SPHP) rice at Rp60,000 per 5 kilograms, anak daro rice and sokan rice at Rp165,000 per 10 kg, and sokan and anak daro rice at Rp83,000 per 5 kg.

Granulated sugar is priced at Rp18,000 per kg and packaged Minyakita cooking oil at Rp15,500 per packet.

Then, krista salt is Rp2,000 per 200 grams, nusantara salt Rp2,000 per 250 grams, and eggs Rp49,000 per tray.

Members of the public wishing to shop at the cheap market operation are expected to queue in an orderly fashion and arrive at the designated times.

“We hope the public can queue in an orderly manner. We also urge them to bring shopping bags from home, to reduce the use of plastic bags,” she said.
