A vicious robbery occurred at a company office in Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province, leaving a female cashier with the initials PT (25) wounded and covered in blood. After carrying out his brutal act, the perpetrator Jodi Alfandi (27) still had time to smoke a cigarette. “Yes, so after stabbing the victim, the victim was in a weak state and the perpetrator took a moment to smoke,” said Pelalawan Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKP Bayu Ramadhan Effendi, in his statement on Friday (19/6/2026). Not only that, the perpetrator also washed his hands which were injured by scissors cuts during the struggle with the victim. After successfully stealing Rp 76 million from the safe, the perpetrator fled and locked the door behind him. “The perpetrator also damaged the CCTV camera with a stone before escaping,” he added. The bloody incident took place at the company office on Jalan Lintas Timur Km 43, Kiyap Jaya Village, Bandar Sei Kijang District, Pelalawan Regency, on Wednesday (17/6) afternoon. Initially, the perpetrator named Jodi came to the location to survey the situation. He arrived pretending to ask to use the toilet. There, he took a pair of scissors to use as a weapon. About two hours later, precisely at 4:50 p.m. Western Indonesian Time, the perpetrator returned to the office whose door was open. He immediately threatened and brandished the scissors, forcing the victim to hand over the safe key. The victim refused and screamed for help. The perpetrator then assaulted the victim, stabbing her 22 times. The victim was left helpless and collapsed weakly, covered in blood. The perpetrator then seized the safe key from the cashier’s desk. After the perpetrator fled, the victim, in a weakened state, picked up her mobile phone. She then sent a WhatsApp message to her colleague, Agung, along with a selfie photo of her bloodied face. “Help Gung, I’m being killed,” the victim’s chat message to her friend was recounted by AKP Bayu. The victim’s colleague then arrived with a witness. Because the door was locked, the colleague called residents until they together entered the office and found the victim lying in a pool of blood. The victim was then taken to the hospital. On the way to the hospital, the victim’s colleague contacted the National Police 110 call centre and reported the incident. The Pelalawan Police Criminal Investigation Unit team conducted an investigation and pursuit of the perpetrator. The chase was dramatic, marked by the perpetrator’s resistance until police ultimately disabled him with hot lead. The perpetrator was ambushed while travelling from Pekanbaru to Bandar Seikijang. When intercepted, the perpetrator tried to ram his vehicle into one of the officers, forcing the officer to shoot him in the leg after warnings were ignored. “Because the perpetrator resisted, the team took firm, measured action and succeeded in disabling the perpetrator,” he stated. Police then made the arrest and conducted a search. The search uncovered cash amounting to Rp 36,370,000 on him, which he admitted was the proceeds of the robbery.
