Riau Regional Police emphasise the importance of transparent and accountable budget governance as part of efforts to improve the quality of services to the public. This statement follows the achievement of good performance in budget implementation at the national level. Riau Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryawan stated that managing state budgets must be viewed as a public trust that must be carried out responsibly. “State budgets are the trust of the people. Therefore, they must be managed well, transparently, appropriately, and truly provide benefits to support policing services to the public,” said Herry on Wednesday (29/4/2026). According to him, the quality of budget management is one of the foundations in building a professional, modern, and trusted police institution. This also relates to the organisation’s ability to maintain programme consistency, budget absorption, and the effectiveness of activities. He added that this achievement is inseparable from the collective efforts of all ranks, from the provincial police to police stations, which continue to carry out service, security, and law enforcement functions amid various dynamics. In addition, strengthening budget governance is seen as an important part in maintaining institutional integrity, while ensuring that every programme implemented has a direct impact on the public. “This is not just about performance achievements, but how every rupiah used truly returns in the form of services felt by the public,” he said.
