Riau Provincial Police Propam Holds Technical Working Meeting to Strengthen Internal Supervision
The Professional Standards and Security Division (Bid Propam) of Riau Provincial Police held the 2026 Internal Propam Technical Working Meeting (Rakernis) in Pekanbaru. This activity was organised as a step towards consolidation and strengthening the internal supervision function within the Riau Provincial Police environment.
Riau Provincial Police Propam Chief, Kombes Harissandi, in his address, stressed that the internal supervision function is the primary foundation in upholding the institution’s honour. According to him, the quality of supervision will greatly determine the level of public trust in the Indonesian National Police (Polri).
“Propam must be at the forefront in ensuring that every personnel works according to the rules, professionally, and accountably. Strong supervision is not just about enforcement, but also prevention so that every potential violation can be anticipated early,” said Kombes Harissandi on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
This activity was focused on aligning perceptions, improving the quality of supervision, and strengthening the integrity and professionalism of personnel in facing the increasingly complex dynamics of police duties. This internal Rakernis serves as a strategic forum to evaluate the implementation of supervision tasks so far while formulating improvement steps for the future.
In the forum, the main emphasis was directed towards strengthening responsibility, procedural accuracy, and speed in handling every potential violation or issue that arises in the community.
Synergy with TNI Military Police
Following the Rakernis, the activity continued with the Halal Bihalal of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah involving the TNI Military Police (POM). This momentum was utilised as a space to strengthen relationships, enhance communication, and reaffirm the commitment to synergy between the TNI and Polri, particularly in the function of enforcing discipline and internal supervision.
In an atmosphere full of warmth and togetherness, the ranks of Bid Propam Riau Provincial Police and TNI POM emphasised the importance of inter-institutional solidarity as the key to maintaining regional security stability.
The established synergy is not only formal but must also be realised in effective coordination in the field.
Kombes Harissandi conveyed that collaboration between Propam and TNI POM is an important element in ensuring that every operational task implementation runs according to legal and ethical corridors.
“When supervision runs strong and inter-institutional synergy is maintained, security stability will remain controlled. That is where public trust grows and strengthens,” he concluded.
