Riau Police Win Two Awards from Information Commission, Chief Calls It a Special Gift for Bhayangkara Anniversary

The Riau Regional Police (Polda Riau) won awards at the 2025 Information Transparency Awards and the 2025 Achievement Motivation Person event organised by the Riau Province Information Commission. The two awards received simultaneously by Polda Riau serve as a special gift ahead of the 80th Bhayangkara Day. The first award was presented to the Riau Police Chief, Inspector General Herry Heryawan, as the recipient of the 2025 Achievement Motivation Person award, for his dedication and support in promoting information transparency and accountable public service. The second award was given to Senior Commissioner Anom Karibianto in the Riau Province Vertical Institution category, as a form of appreciation for Polda Riau’s commitment to implementing the principles of public information transparency. Inspector General Herry Heryawan stated that this award is a special gift for all Polda Riau personnel ahead of the 80th Bhayangkara Day. According to him, the achievement is the result of collective work across all ranks who continuously strive to deliver public services that are transparent, professional, and responsive to the community’s needs. This success is inseparable from the implementation of the Police Chief’s flagship programmes, including RADAR (Responsive, Active, Digital, Accountable and Responsibility), RAGA (Riau Anti-Gang and Anarchism) and JALUR (Riau Exploration for the People), which place information transparency and service speed as important parts of the Precision Police transformation. Through these programmes, Polda Riau integrates all information, reports, aspirations, and public complaints received through various communication channels, both official and unofficial. All information received via social media, digital services, call centres, mass media, and direct complaints from the public is collected in a system that enables fast, accurate, and accountable responses. This approach is a tangible form of Polda Riau’s commitment to building police services that are closer to the community and ensuring that every issue raised by the public can be followed up transparently and measurably. The Chairman of the Riau Province Information Commission, Tatang Yudiansyah, emphasised in his remarks that information transparency is a key indicator in realising good, accountable governance and building public trust. In line with this, Polda Riau continues to pursue various innovations to improve the quality of public information services, including strengthening digital transformation to facilitate public access to needed information through more modern and user-friendly platforms. In addition, Polda Riau is continuously improving service responsiveness by ensuring that every information request from the public can be served quickly in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Equally important, transparency is now being promoted as a work culture across all work units and district police stations. Transparency is no longer merely an administrative obligation but has become part of the organisation’s commitment to building public trust in the Indonesian National Police institution. The awards achieved also serve as evidence that Polda Riau is capable of adapting to the demands of modern society, which desires public services that are open, fast, and accountable. Through various innovations and the strengthening of public communication systems, Polda Riau is considered to have successfully provided accurate, easily accessible information and created broader participation space for the community.
