Riau Police Sacrifice 195 Animals for Eid al-Adha, Distribute to Remote Villages

Riau Police distributed 195 sacrificial animals during the observance of Eid al-Adha 1447 H/2026 M. All animals were distributed to remote villages through regional police districts.

Of the total 195 animals, 149 were cattle and 46 goats. The Riau Police contributed 49 cattle and 8 goats, while regional police districts provided 100 cattle and 38 goats.

Deputy Police Chief of Riau Brigadier General Hengki Haryadi stated that the sacrificial animal slaughter conducted by Riau Police this year is a tangible demonstration of sincerity and social concern.

In his speech, Hengki said Eid al-Adha is a moment rich in sincerity, sacrifice, and social concern.

“Through the act of sacrifice, we are taught to strengthen faith and piety, and to willingly give,” said Brigadier General Hengki at the Riau Police Headquarters on Pattimura Street, Pekanbaru City, Wednesday, 27 May 2026.

Brigadier General Hengki expressed appreciation to all committees and regional police districts for assisting in the distribution of sacrificial animals. All animals will be delivered to the public, including remote areas.

“I also urge that the distribution and slaughtering process proceeds safely, orderly, in accordance with religious principles, and animal health standards to ensure the activity runs smoothly and benefits the community,” he added.

Closing his speech, the Deputy Police Chief urged that Eid al-Adha be used as an opportunity to enhance sincerity and emulate the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

Earlier, Riau Police held Eid al-Adha prayers at the police headquarters on Pattimura Street, Pekanbaru, which proceeded safely and peacefully. The Deputy Police Chief and all personnel attended the event.
