Riau Police Provide Access to Remote Areas, 42 Bridges Completed
The construction and renovation of these bridges were carried out by a joint team of 120 personnel from the Riau Provincial Police’s Mobile Brigade (Satbrimob), Directorate of Security and Public Order (Ditsamapta), and Water and Air Police Directorate (Ditpolairud). This program is part of the implementation of President H. Prabowo Subianto’s Commander Wish, focusing on improving access for rural communities, ensuring citizen safety, and supporting education for children in remote areas.
The completed bridges are located in several regencies/cities such as Siak, Dumai, Rohil, Rohul, Kampar, Bengkalis, Inhil, Inhu, Pelalawan, Kuansing, and Meranti Islands. Most of these bridges provide vital access for residents to schools, farms, places of worship, and economic centers.
In several locations, the newly built bridges have already had a direct positive impact on students. Children who previously had to cross damaged and dangerous bridges can now travel to school safely and comfortably.
Furthermore, access for farmers and fishermen to their workplaces has also improved, which in turn benefits the economic activities of rural communities.
However, the task force continues to work on 35 other bridges that are currently under construction. Several projects have shown significant progress and are nearing completion.
The Commander of the Riau Provincial Police’s Mobile Brigade, Commissioner I Ketut Gede Adi Wibawa, stated that the construction of these bridges is not just a physical project but also a tangible form of police presence in the community.
“The construction of these bridges is a form of our dedication and concern for the community. We want to ensure that children can go to school safely, people can carry out their activities smoothly, and the economic wheels of the village continue to turn,” said Commissioner Ketut on Sunday (May 17, 2026).
He added that all personnel involved worked to the best of their ability in the field despite facing various geographical challenges and weather conditions.
“We will continue to work until all targets for this second phase of construction are completed. The enthusiasm of the personnel in the field is extraordinary because they know that the bridges being built will bring new hope to the community,” he added.
Of the total projects currently underway, six other bridges have also entered the preparation stage.
This ‘Red and White Precision Bridge’ construction program has received positive feedback from the community as it is considered capable of addressing the basic needs of residents in remote areas who have long faced transportation access constraints.
With the completion of these dozens of bridges, the Riau Provincial Police not only builds infrastructure but also connectivity, safety, and new hope for communities in the corners of Bumi Lancang Kuning.
