Riau Police Humanitarian Expedition Penetrates Remote Villages to Distribute Social Aid
The Riau Regional Police (Polda Riau) conducted an expedition exploring remote villages in Kampar Regency. Undertaking a humanitarian mission, Polda Riau personnel navigated rivers to distribute social assistance through the JALUR (Jelajar Riau untuk Rakyat) programme.
The expedition was carried out in conjunction with the 80th Bhayangkara Day celebrations. Led by the Director of Community Development of Polda Riau, Senior Commissioner Eko Budhi Prawono, the JALUR Expedition Team, comprising the Community Development Directorate, the Water and Air Police Directorate, the Medical and Health Division, and the Public Relations Division, departed from the Riau Police Headquarters on Monday (22/7/2026) at around 07.30 WIB.
Dozens of personnel travelled overland to Kampar Kiri Hulu District, Kampar Regency. Seven villages were reached by the expedition team in this first phase. The seven villages included Pangkalan Serai, Subayang Jaya, Terusam, Batu Songgan, Gajah Beraluk, Air Kuning, and Tanjung Beringin. The journey to these locations was made by boat, given the difficulty of overland access.
There, the team distributed 819 social aid packages to residents. The expedition team’s presence was warmly welcomed by the community. Additionally, the JALUR Expedition team distributed 270 social aid packages in Gema Village, Tanjung Belit, Muaro Bio, and Koto Lamo. Officers also conducted health checks and provided supplements and vitamins to residents.
The JALUR Expedition Team also brought joy to children along the riverbanks. In an atmosphere of camaraderie, police officers and children played traditional games, strengthening the relationship between the community and the Indonesian National Police.
The Director of Community Development stated that the activity welcoming the 80th Bhayangkara Day was not merely an annual ceremonial event, but a realisation of the police’s presence as servants and protectors of the community. “This activity aims to celebrate the 80th Bhayangkara Anniversary by bringing police services directly to remote areas through the JALUR expedition, to provide social assistance, free health services, and strengthen ties with the community,” explained Senior Commissioner Budi.
This activity also served as a momentum for Polda Riau to strengthen ties with the community in order to create a safer and more conducive public security and order situation. On that occasion, the police also engaged in dialogue with residents and local community leaders. “We collaborate with the district police, sector police, community policing officers, and the community. We weave togetherness to create better conditions and to mutually share information, especially concerning public security and order,” added Senior Commissioner Budi.
Today’s JALUR Expedition is not yet complete. There are still other villages to be explored by the Expedition Team. “Approximately five more villages around this area, bringing the total to 17 villages,” concluded Senior Commissioner Budi.
