The Riau Police Emergency Bridge Construction Task Force is accelerating the construction and renovation of Phase II Red and White Bridges. By the end of May 2026, the task force has completed 51 bridges across various regions in Riau Province.

Brigadier General I Ketut Gede Adi Wibawa, Riau Police Brimob Commander and Task Force Head, stated that 120 combined personnel were deployed to ensure precise and swift completion of targets. This includes 70 Brimob personnel, 30 from the Traffic Police (Ditsamapta), and 20 from the Maritime Police (Ditpolairud) and regional police.

Completed bridges include Primary School 025 Bagan Hulu in Rokan Hilir Regency (Rohil), Pondok Gelugur Village Bridge in Indragiri Hulu (Inhu), Primary School 9 Muara Kelantan Village Bridge in Siak, and Mayang Sari Fishermen’s Bridge in Meranti Islands Regency. A 12x4 metre bridge in Parit Kajang, Mumpa Village, Indragiri Hilir Regency (Inhil), has been fully completed. Two bridges were also finished in Tengkereng Timur Subdistrict, Pekanbaru.

The task force completed five bridges in Indragiri Hilir Regency (Inhil) and six in Rokan Hulu Regency (Rohul). In Kampar Regency, four village bridges were completed, while four bridges in Bengkalis Regency, two in Pelalawan Regency, and four in Kuantan Singingi Regency (Kuansing) have also been finished.

“Most of these bridges are now in the final finishing phase, including painting the red and white safety wall ornaments (loneng) as a symbol of the state’s presence among communities,” said Brigadier General Ketut in his statement on Friday, 29 May 2026.

In addition to monitoring completed infrastructure, the task force is now shifting personnel focus to expedite the remaining 28 bridges in critical phases, including the Perintis-Bukit Datuk Lama Road bridge in Dumai, which is in the final stages of installing guardrails. The task force is also accelerating the construction of the Jaya Kopah-Munsalo Kopah connecting bridge in Kuansing.

Brigadier General Ketut stated that this accelerated construction aims to ensure public safety, improve school attendance rates, and promote social inclusion for rural communities previously isolated or affected by damaged infrastructure.

“This humanitarian and infrastructure programme is a concrete implementation of President Prabowo Subianto’s Commander Wish, communicated in late 2025, followed up by the National Police Deputy Chief’s meeting and a Police Chief’s Order,” he added.
