Riau Police Chief's Ramadan Safari in Pelalawan: Strengthening Community Ties and Donating to Orphans
The Riau Police Chief, Inspector General Herry Heryawan, held a Ramadan safari at Pelalawan Police Resort. The event served as an important moment to strengthen silaturahmi with the community in Pelalawan Regency.
The activity took place as part of a series of working visits to Pelalawan Regency on Saturday, 7 March 2026. After attending the nationwide corn-planting ceremony led by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the Police Chief proceeded to Pelalawan Police Resort.
The solemn ceremony featured a silaturahmi gathering and an iftar meal attended by regional government officials, religious leaders, community figures, and police personnel.
In his address, Inspector General Herry Heryawan expressed gratitude for the event’s organisation. He stressed that the Ramadan safari is not merely a routine agenda, but a moment to reinforce brotherhood and togetherness amid the duties of serving the state.
‘Alhamdulillah, as part of Ramadan Safari 1447 H, I along with the leadership of the Riau Regional Police conducted silaturahmi and breaking fast together at Pelalawan Police Resort,’ said Irjen Herry.
During the occasion, the Riau Police Chief also distributed donations to a number of orphans as a sign of social concern. The programme then continued with a tausiyah (religious sermon) and joint prayers ahead of the iftar.
Through this activity, the Riau Police Chief hopes that the values of Ramadan can be implemented in the daily duties of police personnel, especially in providing protection and service to the community.
‘May this Ramadan strengthen the sense of togetherness, social care, and our spirit of devotion to continue delivering the best service to the community,’ he said.
The Ramadan Safari is expected to help create a more conducive kamtibmas (security and public order) situation within the Riau Police’s jurisdiction, particularly in Pelalawan Regency, through a humane and religious approach.
