Riau Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryawan conducted a working visit to Kampar Regency, where he directly inspected the construction of a bridge in Lubuk Agung Village, XIII Koto Kampar District.

During the visit on Friday, 20 February 2026, the Police Chief was accompanied by Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Hengki Haryadi, several senior officials of Riau Regional Police, and Kampar Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Boby Putra Ramadhan Sebayang.

Also present were Riau Regional Police Operations Bureau Chief Commissioner Ino Harianto, Riau Brimob Unit Commander Commissioner I Ketut Gede Wibawa, Kampar Regent Ahmad Yuzar, Kampar Deputy Police Chief Inspector Rizki Hidayat, and local community figures.

The Police Chief received a progress report on the bridge construction from the Kampar Police Chief. He requested that the Riau Regional Police Emergency Bridge Task Force accelerate the construction process.

“Please speed this up so that the community can use this bridge access safely and comfortably,” said Inspector General Herry Heryawan.

The bridge construction has entered the finishing stage. Riau Brimob personnel, Kampar Police officers, and local residents are currently completing the painting work.

“The construction of the Merah Putih Presisi Bridge is a strategic step to open up regional connectivity and drive community economic growth. We greatly appreciate the full support from the Riau Police Chief and his team,” said Adjunct Senior Commissioner Boby.

Equal Access for Village Communities

Riau Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryawan emphasised that communities in remote villages deserve the same ease of mobility as those in urban areas. The presence of the police amongst the community through infrastructure development represents a tangible manifestation of the police force’s humanist and solution-oriented commitment.

“There is a matter of justice that we must build there. Our brothers and sisters in the regions deserve to have and experience easy access, just as in other places,” the Police Chief stressed.

The Merah Putih Presisi Bridge construction programme, themed ‘Bridging Civilisation, Reaching Hope’, is expected to provide improved access and connectivity for communities in the region.

“We hope this initiative can serve as inter-village connectivity access — improving access to education, healthcare, for farmers heading to their plantations, and for children going to school — so that these connections function properly and are truly felt by the community,” he explained.
