Riau Police Chief: Under Kapolri's Leadership, Security is Born from Trust

Riau Police Chief Irjen Pol Herry Heryawan expressed high appreciation and praise for National Police Chief Jenderal Listyo Sigit Prabowo. According to him, the Kapolri’s leadership teaches all ranks that security is born from public trust. This was conveyed by Irjen Herry Heryawan in his speech at the inauguration of 80 Merah Putih Presisi bridges in Bumi Ayu Village, Dumai Selatan District, Dumai City, on Wednesday (8/7/2026). “Under his leadership, we at the Riau Regional Police understand that security is born from trust. Trust gives birth to participation. Participation gives birth to collaboration. Collaboration gives birth to social resilience, which is the foundation for progress and public welfare,” said Irjen Herry Heryawan. Irjen Herry Heryawan stated that this understanding serves as a foundation and guideline for the Riau Regional Police in carrying out their duties and mandate. “And this understanding serves as our guideline in implementing the construction of these 80 Merah Putih Presisi bridges, as a gift for the 80th Bhayangkara Day for Riau Province,” he added. Concluding his speech, the Riau Police Chief thanked the Kapolri for his presence, support, and guidance in various efforts to serve the community. “The presence of the Kapolri motivates us to continue working better, closer, and more beneficially for the people in this Land of Lancang Kuning,” he said. The Kapolda also expressed appreciation to all related stakeholders for the collaboration and synergy in the construction, which has now seen a total of 110 bridges completed. “Specifically, we would like to thank the Acting Governor of Riau, the Military Commander, the Mayor of Dumai, related stakeholders, volunteers, and the community who have provided support in the construction process of these 80 Merah Putih Presisi Phase II bridges. May our good deeds become the seeds of smiles for our children and grandchildren in the future,” he concluded. The Riau Regional Police has completed the construction of 80 Merah Putih Presisi bridges in Phase II. In total, the Riau Regional Police has successfully built 110 bridges. The Kapolda said the presence of these bridges is a gift to the community as a manifestation of the National Police’s presence in society. “The 80 Merah Putih Presisi bridges that now stand across various corners of Riau Province are a collective effort to strengthen social connectivity, expand public access to public services, and open up more equitable economic growth opportunities,” he explained. The 80 Merah Putih Presisi bridges were officially inaugurated by National Police Chief Jenderal Listyo Sigit Prabowo. Accompanying the Kapolri were the Commander of the Police Mobile Brigade Corps, Komjen Ramdani Hidayat; the Head of the Police Security Intelligence Agency, Komjen Yuda Gustawan; and the Assistant for Logistics of the National Police, Komjen Suwondo Nainggolan. Also in attendance were Acting Governor of Riau SF Hariyanto, Commander of Military Region XIX/Tuanku Tambusai Major General TNI Agus Hadi Waluyo, Mayor of Dumai Paisal, and Dumai Police Chief AKBP Angga F Herlambang along with members of the Dumai City Regional Leadership Coordination Forum.
