Riau Police Chief Leads Promotion Ceremony, Urges Personnel to Uphold Institutional Honour

The Riau Regional Police held a corps report ceremony for the promotion of six officers at the force’s headquarters in Pekanbaru City. Riau Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryawan, who led the ceremony, called on all personnel to always uphold the honour and public trust in the National Police institution. In his address, the Riau Police Chief stated that this one-level promotion was not merely ceremonial but a tangible manifestation of the institution’s trust. He expressed hope that these promotions would serve as an example for all other personnel to continue enhancing their dedication to the National Police. “In essence, this is an honour bestowed by the institution upon colleagues who have dedicated themselves well,” said Inspector General Herry Heryawan on Wednesday. On the occasion, the police chief reminded all ranks about the current global and national situation, which is experiencing uncertainty, from stock price fluctuations to foreign exchange rates such as the US Dollar, Malaysian Ringgit, and Singapore Dollar. These impacts indirectly affect the socio-political conditions within society. “Moreover, we are also facing a hydrometeorological situation that, based on BMKG results, is likely to occur from July to September,” he said. Therefore, Inspector General Herry requested all his personnel, as the front line, to actively monitor the situation and intensively conduct social communication through community-oriented social service programmes. “These social symptoms must be understood, and solutions must be sought together,” he added. Furthermore, ahead of the 80th Anniversary of the National Police, the Riau Police Chief issued strict instructions that no personnel should commit any violation, no matter how small. “Do not let this great achievement and honour be tarnished by the actions of one or two individuals; remind each other. In this era of open social media, we must remind each other,” the Riau Police Chief stressed. Before concluding his remarks, the police chief extended congratulations to the six promoted officers. They are: AKBP Henni Irawati, AKBP Jasman, Kompol Rosyani, Kompol Aguswandi, S.H., Kompol Heru Sucipto, and AKP Kamiludin.
