Riau Police Chief Deploys 2,005 Personnel for 2026 Eid Homecoming Operation
The Riau Police Regional Command (Polda) held a multi-sectoral coordination meeting to prepare for Operation Ketupat Lancang Kuning 2026, deploying thousands of personnel to secure the movement of citizens travelling for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming.
Riau Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryawan stated that the multi-sectoral coordination meeting represented the commitment of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and relevant agencies to provide excellent service to citizens celebrating Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026 CE.
“This coordination meeting is to strengthen our shared commitment, because collective commitment is the key to enhancing service in preparing for Eid 2026,” said Inspector General Herry Heryawan at the Riau Police Regional Headquarters in Pekanbaru on Monday (9 March 2026).
Operation Ketupat Lancang Kuning 2026 will run from 13 to 25 March 2026. To serve the public, the Riau Police have prepared service posts (posyan), security posts (pospam), and integrated posts at several vulnerable locations.
“We will establish 22 service posts, 34 security posts, and 10 integrated posts,” he said.
The total force deployed for Operation Ketupat Lancang Kuning 2026 comprises 2,005 combined personnel from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), National Police, Civil Police Units, Transport Agency, Meteorology and Geophysics Agency, and other stakeholders.
Inspector General Herry expressed hope that through thorough preparation, Riau citizens undertaking the homecoming tradition could travel comfortably without significant obstacles on the roads.
“We hope citizens undertaking this journey can travel well and reunite with their families. God willing, we will ensure all citizens reach their respective destinations safely,” concluded the Riau Police Chief.
