Riau Independent Smallholders' FFB Price Rallies to Rp3,674.93 per kg
The price of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) for independent oil palm smallholders in Riau Province has recorded a significant increase of Rp403.01 per kilogramme, or 12.32 per cent, from the previous period, reaching Rp3,674.93 per kg. The acting head of the Processing and Marketing Division at the Riau Provincial Plantation Office, Vera Virgianti, stated that this increase applies to the 9-year age group, which represents the highest price tier. The pricing is valid for the coming week, covering the period of 10–16 June 2026. “This FFB price increase was primarily triggered by soaring crude palm oil (CPO) prices, even though kernel prices experienced a slight decline,” Vera said in Pekanbaru on Wednesday. She noted that CPO prices rose by Rp2,013.01 per kg to Rp15,000.00 per kg compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, kernel prices fell by Rp12.35 per kg to Rp13,360.00 per kg this week. In contrast to independent smallholders, the purchase price of FFB for plasma scheme smallholders for the upcoming week declined by Rp64.09 per kg, or 1.67 per cent, from the previous period, settling at Rp3,768.52 per kg. The CPO sales price this week also dropped by Rp229.96 per kg to Rp15,000.00 per kg, while kernel prices for plasma smallholders decreased by Rp342.05 to Rp13,360.00 per kg. Vera conveyed that companies partnering with the Riau Plantation Office have agreed to the price determination. Regarding mills that purchase below the office’s benchmark price, she said letters have been issued instructing district and municipal offices to enhance supervision. “Indeed, the Plantation Office price is only applicable for those in partnerships, so the quality of their FFB must also comply with the partnership agreement,” she stated.
