Pekanbaru, Riau - The price of fresh fruit bunches (TBS) of palm oil for independent farmers in Riau Province this week has experienced a significant increase of Rp125.13 per kilogram, or 3.26 per cent from the previous week, reaching nearly Rp4,000 per kg or Rp3,967.83 per kg.

The Head of Processing and Marketing at the Riau Plantation Office, Defris Hatmaja, stated that the increase occurred for palm trees in the 9-year age group, which is the highest price.

This determination applies for the coming week or the period of 1-7 April 2026.

“This week’s TBS price increase is influenced by the rise in the selling price of crude palm oil (CPO) and kernel, which impacts the increase in the TBS price received by farmers,” said Defris in Pekanbaru on Wednesday.

He said the CPO price rose by Rp463.32 per kg to Rp15,663.50 per kg compared to last week. Meanwhile, the kernel price increased by Rp641.00 per kg to Rp15,385 per kg this week.

Similarly, for independent farmers, the purchase price of TBS for plasma partners for the coming week also rose by Rp64.13 per kg, or 1.65 per cent from the previous period’s price, reaching Rp3,950.63 per kg.

This week’s CPO selling price rose by Rp210.69 to Rp15,663.50 per kg. Meanwhile, kernel rose by Rp705.69 to Rp15,385.00 per kg.

He stated that in determining the TBS price in Riau Province, his side always improves governance so that this price determination complies with regulations and is fair for both partnering parties.

“The improvement in governance of this price determination is a serious effort by all stakeholders, supported by the Riau Provincial Government and the Riau High Prosecutor’s Office. This joint commitment will ultimately impact the increase in farmers’ income, leading to community welfare,” he said.
