Riau Education Department Office Searched Over Alleged Digital Interactive Board Corruption

The Riau Provincial Education Department office has been searched by a team of investigators from the Riau High Prosecutor’s Office in connection with the alleged criminal act of corruption in the procurement of Interactive Flat Panels (IFP) or digital interactive whiteboards for 2024. “It is true. Today, special crimes investigators from the Riau High Prosecutor’s Office conducted a search at the Riau Education Department related to the alleged corruption in the procurement of artificial intelligence teaching aids,” said the Head of Legal Information and Public Relations at the Riau High Prosecutor’s Office, Zikrullah, in Riau on Thursday (23/7). He explained that the search was carried out at the Riau Education Department Office on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Pekanbaru City, on Thursday. During the search, the investigating team secured a number of documents and electronic evidence. Investigators seized three boxes of documents and electronic evidence from the office of the Head of the Senior High School Division and the rooms of several other staff members. The alleged corruption case involving the digital interactive whiteboard entered the investigation stage on 15 July 2026. “We are currently still gathering evidence, including today’s search process at the Riau Education Department Office. This is part of the effort to find and fulfil the evidence needed to determine who is responsible for this case,” Zikrullah stated. He noted that several witnesses have already been examined, but the process remains in the early stages of investigation.
