Riau Education Department Office Searched Over Alleged Digital Interactive Board Corruption

The Riau Provincial Education Office was raided by investigators from the Riau High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati Riau) in connection with suspected corruption in the 2024 procurement of Interactive Flat Panels (IFP), or digital interactive whiteboards.

“That is correct. Today, the special crime investigators of Kejati Riau conducted a search at the Riau Education Office related to suspected corruption in the procurement of artificial intelligence devices,” said Zikrullah, Head of the Legal Information and Public Relations Section at Kejati Riau, on Thursday (23/7).

He explained that the search was carried out at the Riau Education Office on Jalan Ahmad Yani in Pekanbaru on Thursday. During the raid, the investigative team secured a number of documents and electronic items of evidence.

Investigators seized documents amounting to three boxes as well as electronic evidence from the room of the Head of the Senior High School Division and the rooms of several other staff members.

The suspected corruption case involving the digital interactive whiteboards entered the investigation stage on 15 July 2026.

“We are still gathering evidence, including today’s search at the Riau Education Office. This is part of the effort to find and secure sufficient evidence to determine who is responsible for this case,” Zikrullah explained.

He said a number of witnesses have already been examined. However, the process is still at the preliminary investigation stage.
