Riau DPRD Budget Meeting Erupts into Brawl Between Council Leaders and Members

Members of the Riau Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) were involved in a physical altercation following a budget meeting with the Regional Government Budget Team (TAPD) on Friday afternoon. The dispute, which began as a verbal argument, escalated into a brawl involving shoving, punching, and objects being thrown across the room. The clash occurred between the faction supporting Deputy Speaker Parisman Ikhwan and that of Commission V Chairman Indra Gunawan. Both officials are from the Golkar Party. A witness stated the confrontation broke out suddenly. DPRD Speaker Kaderismanto later confirmed the situation had been brought under control, attributing the incident to a misunderstanding.
