Pekanbaru, (ANTARA) - The Riau Provincial Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Service Centre (BP3MI) has once again received 150 non-procedural Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) deported from Malaysia through Dumai Port.

Head of BP3MI Riau, Fanny Wahyu Kurniawan, in Pekanbaru on Monday, stated that the PMI originate from various regions in Indonesia, including Aceh, Riau, North Sumatra, South Sumatra, East Java, West Java, Jambi, Special Region of Yogyakarta, West Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, and Maluku.

“The PMI were repatriated to the homeland using the Indomal Kingdom vessel on Saturday (25/4). Of the 150 PMI, 68 are men and 82 are women,” said Fanny.

BP3MI Riau ensures that all PMI arriving in Dumai are documented and facilitated for return to their home regions so they can reunite with their families.

Following the initial examination process, BP3MI Riau, together with the Dumai City PMI Protection Unit (P4MI), provides protection services, accompaniment, and information to the distressed PMI.

“The PMI are then taken to the Indonesian Migrant Worker-Friendly House at the Dumai City P4MI for further data collection, services, and facilitation while awaiting the return process to their respective home regions,” he said.

“Our presence is not just about picking them up, but also about recovery and conveying that the state is not silent,” he added.
