RI workers abroad

The government is trying to improve the situation for
Indonesians working abroad for various reasons. One is because
sending workers overseas reduces the unemployment problem at
home. Another is foreign exchange earnings.

But we are happy that foreign exchange is not the only
consideration. Now the government has said that it will be more
selective and only send only those with sufficient skills. This
is expected to improve Indonesia's image.

In this era of globalization, people working overseas is
common. The question is what benefit we can reap. Improving
working conditions for Indonesians is one way to assure benefits
while at the same time relieving the pressure on the domestic
labor market.
