RI troupe bound for Europe

JAKARTA (JP): A troupe of 90 singers and dancers will leave
for Europe next week for a series of cultural performances called
Indonesian Night 1995.

The trip has been organized by the Jodi Utomo Foundation in
cooperation with state-owned television station TVRI, the
Directorate General of Tourism, and the Ministry of Education and
Culture.

The mission will present Indonesian Night 1995 shows in Poland
on July 13, Czech Republic on July 20, Slovakia on July 23,
Hungary on July 26, Austria on July 28 and Switzerland on Aug.2,
said Isti Dary Sofia, chairwoman of the Jodi Utomo Foundation.

A film will be shot during the trip and will be aired during a
TVRI music program.

The mission, following the success of President Soeharto's
eldest daughter Siti Hardiyanti Rukmana's cultural mission to
Europe a few weeks ago, is aimed at enhancing cultural ties
between Indonesia and European countries. (als)
