RI to take on South Korea

JAKARTA (JP): The national under-19 soccer team arrived home
from their Italian stint yesterday, promising a hard-fought
battle against South Korea in their Olympic Games qualifying
round match here on May 25.

"South Korea is the favorite but they know we are not novices
any longer," manager Danurwindo said upon his team's arrival at
the Soekarno-Hatta airport. Indonesia is grouped with South Korea
and Hong Kong. Only one team will move into the next qualifying
round.

Danurwindo said he was quite satisfied with the progress made
by his squad during its two-year stay in Italy. The 21-strong
team scored eight wins, eight draws and nine losses in the
Italian junior league. It beat Johor 2-0 and held Singapore 0-0
in try-outs last week. (amd)
