RI to raise coffee output

LONDON (Reuter): Indonesia's coffee production is expected to reach 500,000 tons in 1997/98 (Oct/Sept) from an estimated 480,000 in 1996/97, an Indonesian official said here.

Oesman Soedargo, chairman of the Association of Indonesian Coffee Exporters, told Reuters Friday that annual domestic consumption was expected to remain at 120,000 tons.

Soedargo is an Indonesian delegate at a London meeting of the Association of Coffee Producing Countries (ACPC).
