JAKARTA: Indonesia will send small and medium-scale
enterprises (SMEs) to participate in the de Nancy International
Expo in Nancy, France, to be held from May 29 to June 9, the
National Agency for Export Development (BPEN) said Thursday.
As part of the preparations for the expo, 86 businessmen of
SMEs met Thursday with officials from BPEN and the Indonesian
embassy in France to discuss details of the expo, the agency said
in a statement.
The organizer had named Indonesia as the "distinguished guest"
of the expo and provided a 50 percent discount, or 25,000 euro,
for Indonesia to lease space at the expo venue.
The space and booth costs would be covered by BPEN, while
participants would only pay for their flight tickets, local
transportation, accommodation and the delivery of goods to be
displayed during the expo.
The 12-day expo is expected to draw 150,000 visitors. -- JP
