DOHA, Qatar (AFP): Indonesia's foreign minister said on Wednesday that his Gulf counterparts would be invited to a ministerial meeting to be held soon in Jakarta on investment opportunities in his country.
Alwi Shihab, speaking on his departure from Doha, told Qatar's news agency QNA the meeting would take place at the beginning of May or before the June 27 foreign ministers' meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference in Kuala Lumpur.
Shihab said the meeting would group foreign ministers from the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Iran, Yemen, Brunei, Malaysia and Singapore, and would "examine investments in Indonesia and the possibility of establishing a GCC fund".
The GCC comprises Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Shihab arrived later Wednesday in Abu Dhabi.
