RI, Thai, RP leaders visit Singapore

SINGAPORE (AP): Leaders of the Philippines, Thailand and
Indonesia will visit Singapore this week to meet officials in the
tiny city-state to discuss the challenges they face within the
Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra will kick off the
tours, arriving in Singapore on Wednesday. He is due to meet
Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong and elder statesman Lee Kuan Yew, a
statement from Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Thaksin will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Surakiart
Sathirathai, Finance Minister Somkid Jatusripitak and other
senior ministers, it said.

Philippines President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is due to arrive
on Friday, followed by new Indonesian President Megawati
Soekarnoputri on Sunday.
