RI sweeps four titles in Vietnam

HANOI (AFP): Indonesia swept the finals of the JVC Vietnam
Badminton Championship here Sunday, winning four out of the five
matches.

Top-seeded women's singles player Susi Susanti effortlessly
beat runner-up Xu Huwaiwen from China 11-4, 11-1, earning
US$4,500 and top points in the last tournament of the year on the
Grand Prix circuit.

But her husband Alan Budikusuma lost a hard-fought battle in
the men's singles finals to China's Chen Gang 6-15, 9-15, 3-15.

Indonesia reigned supreme in the men's doubles with Ricky
Subagja and Rexy Mainaky defeating South Korea's Yoo Yong-sung
and Lee Dong-soo 15-11, 15-5.

In the women's doubles Zelin Resiana and Eliza needed three
games to beat Indarti Issoliana and Deyana Lomban in an all-
Indonesian final 15-11,12-15, 15-11.

Bambang Suprianto and Riseu Rosalina also clinched the top
prize for Indonesia in the mixed doubles, beating Lee Dong-soo
and Park Soo-yun of South Korea 15-5, 15-10.
