RI still has no leads in embassy bombing: RP

MANILA (AP): Indonesian investigators still have not given
Philippine authorities any results from an investigation into the
bombing of the Philippine ambassador's residence in Jakarta a
month ago, an official said Thursday.

Two people were killed and dozens injured, including
Philippine Ambassador Leonides Caday, in the Aug. 1 blast outside
the ambassador's residence in downtown Jakarta.

"The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta is also getting impatient
for some results," said Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Lauro
Baja.

Indonesian authorities "still have not given us anything,"
Baja said.

Baja said he has been informed that Indonesian investigators
are not ruling out the involvement of Filipinos but are also
following leads that Indonesians were responsible.

"I think the concentration now is not so much on the
possibility of Filipino involvement but on Indonesian," he said.

Earlier this month, Presidential Executive Secretary Ronaldo
Zamora quoted Indonesian intelligence reports as saying the
bombing may have been committed by Indonesians with links to the
MILF.

He said the bombers may have been avenging the deaths of some
colleagues, possibly during the Philippine government's seizure
last month of Camp Abubakar, the MILF's former headquarters in
the southern Philippines.

Indonesian police have accepted an offer by the United States
to help in the investigation. The Philippines also sent a police
team to assist in the investigation, but their findings have not
been disclosed.

Caday, who suffered five leg fractures and burns and bruises
on his head and hands, is out of intensive care, but he still
cannot stand and needs assistance to sit up, Baja said.

The Philippine government has found an apartment for his use
as a temporary residence, but Caday still has to remain in the
hospital, Baja said.
