RI-Spore jointly promote tourism

JAKARTA: Indonesia and Singapore are working together to boost tourism in both countries, by focusing on the resort island of Bali and using services from the city state's Singapore Airlines.

State Minister for Culture and Tourism Jero Wacik said that under the promotion scheme, tourists from China, India and the Middle East will be given discounts if they visit Indonesia from Singapore.

The Indonesian Tourism Association and the Singapore Tourist Agency Association will collaborate to organize the Singapore- Indonesia trip for prospective tourists.

Indonesia hopes that 10 percent of over 1.3 million Chinese and Indian tourists visiting Singapore will continue their journey to Indonesia. -- Antara
