RI, S'pore boost border security
YOGYAKARTA: Military authorities from Indonesia and Singapore agreed on Thursday to step up security along the countries' sea border.
According to a statement from Indonesian Military (TNI) Headquarters, the two countries agreed during an Indonesia- Singapore Joint Coordinating Committee meeting that the measures were aimed at fighting piracy and other security concerns.
Among those attending the meeting were Maj. Gen. Adam Damiri, operational assistant to the TNI chief of general affairs, and Singapore's joint operations and planning director, Bg. Ng. Chee Khern.
The two countries also agreed to increase the coverage of joint maritime patrols in the high seas. -- Antara
