RI rescue team arrives in Pakistan
JAKARTA: A rescue team of 29 Indonesians have arrived in Pakistan to provide assistance for victims of a devastating earthquake in Muzaffarabad, an Indonesian diplomat said on Wednesday.
This is the second Indonesian team to travel to Pakistan after a humanitarian team was sent to help victims of the Oct. 13 quake, in which thousands of people were killed.
Nico Adam, a spokesman for the Indonesian Embassy in Islamabad, said the arriving rescue team included four doctors from Mer-C, and four others from the Justice Post of Concerned People (PKPU), as well as 13 Indonesian students from the International Islamic University in Islamabad.
"Another group of medical workers and volunteers will follow to help their Muslim brothers in Pakistan," said Suryama M. Sastra who led the team. --Antara
