RI ready for Davis Cup tie

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia's Davis Cup team arrived in Yan Ji,
China, on Monday morning for its Group I Asia Oceania zone second
playoff against the host country.

The national team will field Adrian Raturandang and Febi
Widhiyanto in the singles and a pairing of Sulistyo Wibowo and
Bonit Wiryawan in the doubles for the crucial tie, to be played
from Friday to Sunday.

China have selected Zhang Yu, Wang Yu Wei, Zheng Yu Li and Li
Si.

The draw will take place on Thursday.

"The players are ready to fight it out in order to avoid
relegation," non-playing captain Deddy Prasetyo said as quoted by
Antara. He added that since none of the players had ever faced
each other, both teams had an equal chance of victory in the
match.

Indonesia and China meet in the second playoff after both
losing their previous matches. The loser of this week's duel will
be relegated to a minor Davis Cup league. (yan)
