RI needs 60,000 sports teachers

JAKARTA: The country is in need of at least 60,000 sports
teachers for primary, elementary and high schools, Ministry of
National Education's Director General of Primary and Elementary
Education Indra Djati Sidi said on Friday.

Apart from recruiting more sports teachers, the government
will also train 540 teachers who will coach sports clubs for
elementary school students.

Indra said the training was a part of the government's efforts
to promote healthy living and physical exercise among the young.
