RI Minister lauded by German university

JAKARTA: The Georg-August University of Geottingen in Germany
is going to award Minister of Agriculture Bungaran Saragih an
honorary doctorate degree for his achievement and service in
developing Indonesia's agricultural sector, the university said
in a statement.

Bungaran had made "outstanding achievement and service in
agriculture development and food security at both national and
international levels", the statement said.

Bungaran several times visited the university, gave lectures
there and was involved in developing curriculum on forestry,
agriculture and agribusiness for the university's department of
agriculture.

The university will present the degree on Nov. 2 in
Goettingen. -- JP
