RI man hacks into Thai Cabinet site

THAILAND: An Indonesian computer hacker posted a love note to
his girlfriend "Ermi" on the Thai Cabinet Secretariat's website
over the weekend, adding a thank you message to fellow-hackers,
The Nation reported on Monday.

The message on the Secretariat's home page read, "DeFace by
AriP_ReCA, InDoneSian NeWbie TouCh YouR SySTeM, Dedicated to My
Girl Friend Ermi, I LOVE YOU," with a thank you note posted to
j4mbi_b4ck3r, bang_ning, super_spy and pay_pal.

The Cabinet website is an online source of information on
government policy.

"I don't know why he hacked into the website," said Cabinet
secretary-general Borwornsak Uwanno. "It contained nothing
classified or related to national security."

Thailand is currently mulling legislation that would make
hacking into private or state information sites illegal. -- DPA
