RI maids to be charged with murder

SINGAPORE: Two teenage Indonesian maids will be charged with the
murder of a 47-year-old Singaporean woman found dead in her
condominium, police said on Wednesday.

The two 19-year-old maids will be charged on Thursday with the
murder of Esther Ang, said police spokesman Victor Keong. The
Indonesians' identities are yet to be released.

Ang was found dead on Tuesday, said Keong. Investigators have
not yet determined what the cause of death was.

Keong said one of the maids had been working for Ang for the
past six months, while the other was employed by her ex-husband.

The police had recovered from the maids jewelry and cash
believed to have belonged to Ang.

Another police spokesman, Chua Chee Wai, told local
broadcaster Channel NewsAsia that Ang was found with bruises on
her neck, arms and legs. --AP
