RI loses in Kogas tender
Chairman of the country's oil and gas upstream regulator (BP Migas) Rachmat Sudibjo said on Thursday, Indonesia had lost a tender to supply 3 tons of liquefied natural gas per year (LNG) to South Korea's Korean Gas Corp. (Kogas).
"That's what we've heard, but we're still waiting for official notification from Kogas," Rachmat told reporters.
Indonesia participated in the tender so as to meet Kogas's 6 tons of LNG per year in demand starting 2008 for 20 years-25 years. Indonesia planned to secure the supply from Bontang and Tangguh LNG fields, located in East Kalimantan and Papua, respectively. -- JP
