RI, Laos tie up

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia and Laos signed a memorandum of
understanding on tourism yesterday, to provide a basis for
expanding the range of tourism promotion cooperation between the
two countries.

The deal was signed by Indonesian Foreign Minister Ali Alatas
and his Laotian counterpart Somsavat Lengsavad.

Both ministers underlined the importance of the tourism
industry in terms of bringing in foreign exchange revenue and
creating jobs for the people of the two countries. (mds)
