BAGHDAD (AFP): A sea link between Iraq and southeast Asia was
launched on Wednesday as a ship from Indonesia arrived in the
southern port of Um Qasr on a maiden trip, the official news
agency INA reported.
The 180-metre (600-foot) Liberian-flagged ship, loaded with
476 containers of food products imported under a UN humanitarian
program, made a stop in Malaysia en route.
The ship is to make the journey on a regular basis, INA said.
