MANILA (DPA): The Philippines presented on Monday documentary evidence to the Dutch government of the alleged involvement in local terroristic activities of communist leaders living in self- imposed exile in the Netherlands .
Foreign Undersecretary Lauro Baja summoned Dutch Ambassador to the Philippines Theodore Eugene Richard Arnold and presented him with evidence to show that communist leader Jose Maria Sison directed terroristic activities in the Philippines.
The evidence, which included tapes of television and radio interviews and documents seized from local communists rebels, is intended to convince Dutch authorities not to grant political asylum to Sison.
Sison, who is based in Utrecht, has been seeking political asylum in the Netherlands since he fled the Philippines in the mid-1980s. His application, however, has been turned down several times.
