RI goes to Junior Fed Cup quarters

JAKARTA: Indonesia outplayed the Philippines 3-0 to reach the
quarterfinals of the Asia-Pacific Junior Fed Cup at the Bung
Karno tennis courts here on Thursday.

The Indonesian teenage trio promptly went into a 2-0 lead
after the singles ties with Maya Rosa A. Stefanie defeating
Noelle Conchita C. Zoleta 6-3, 6-1, and Sandy Gumulya easing past
Bernardin Aurell 6-0, 6-1.

Maya then teamed up with Septi Nindya Yutami to brush aside
Zoleta/Aurell 6-3, 6-1. Indonesia will face South Korea in the
quarterfinal match on Friday.

The other pairings are Australia-China, Thailand-India, and
Malaysia-Chinese Taipei. --JP
