RI gets aid from Germany
JAKARTA (JP): Germany agreed yesterday to allocate a loan of
DM 110.000,000 (US$76.3 million) for various power and health
projects in Indonesia.
Under a financial cooperation agreement signed here yesterday,
the projects will include barge-mounted diesel power plants and
the improvement of a class D hospital and health referral system
in Nusa Tenggara.
The loan, carrying an interest rate of 0.75 percent per annum,
will mature in 40 years, including a 10-year grace period.
Yesterday's agreement was signed by the Indonesian foreign
ministry's director general for foreign economic relations,
Soemadi Brotodiningrat, and German Ambassador Heinrich Seemann.
Notes on technical cooperation were also exchanged for the
allocation of over DM 1.800,000 in grants for vocational and
technical education and training in Indonesia. (mds)
