RI firm signs oil deal
RANGOON (DPA): The Indonesian company PT Exspan Sumatera Oil
has agreed to explore and extract oil and natural gas at three
onshore blocks in central Myanmar, government-run media reported
yesterday.
A production-sharing contract was signed Monday at the
Ministry of Energy in Rangoon by representatives of the
Indonesian company and the Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE).
Myanmar's Minister of Energy U Khin Maung Thein presented a
permit to conduct the exploration to John S. Karamoy, president
of the Indonesian company.
The signing ceremony also was attended by MOGE Managing
Director Kyaw Nyein, Secretary of the Myanmar Investment
Commission Brigadier- General Maung Maung, other ministers and
the Indonesian ambassador to Burma, Police Major-General A.
