RI buys wind generators

BEIJING (Reuter): China has agreed to supply Indonesia with 500 wind-driven generators under an aid accord reached in 1995, Xinhua news agency said yesterday.

The power-generation equipment is worth 3.4 million yuan (US$410,000) and will be delivered on April 20, it said.

The report did not say where in Indonesia the generators would be installed.

Manufacturer Shangdu Husbandry Machines Factory, of China's wind-swept northern Inner Mongolia region, is a pioneering maker of wind-power systems and exports to Germany, Sweden and a score of other countries, Xinhua said.
