RI boxer dies after coma
JAKARTA (AFP): An Indonesian boxer has died after being in a
coma for 16 days, hospital staff here said Monday.
Dipo Saloko, 30, Indonesia's fourth-ranked Flyweight, died in
the intensive care unit of the Indonesian Christian University
hospital here on Sunday, a hospital staff member said.
Saloko was knocked out in a fight and never regained
consciousness after being admitted to hospital on June 16,
"The register says he died of a brain hemorrhage," said the
hospital staff member, who identified himself only as Donald.
Saloko was knocked out in the seventh round Rio Saragih in a
mini flyweight bout broadcast nationwide by Indosiar private
television.
