RI-Australia hospital relations

JAKARTA (JP): Pertamina Central Hospital is studying the possibility of cooperation with hospitals in Western Australia to develop human resources and increase medical equipment.

Setyanegara, Pertamina Hospital's director, said over the weekend that many things can be obtained from the bilateral cooperation, Antara reported.

The statements were made after a meeting with the Minister of Health and Manpower of Western Australia Graham Keirath last Friday.

The hospital has sent four nurses to Western Australia to study for Diploma I in nursery, a one-and-a-half year course. The four have returned to Indonesia.

Keirath told reporters that Indonesia is Western Australia's nearest neighbor, so it is understandable that his country intends to cooperate with Indonesia. (05)
